Papaya Oil - Carica papaya

The Papaya (also known as the Paw Paw) is believed to be native to southern Mexico and neighbouring Central America. It is now present in many tropical and subtropical countries.

A popular fruit found in supermarkets, having a yellow-green skin and bright orange or pinkish flesh depending on the variety with black seeds clustered in the centre.

The Papaya Seed obtained by Statfold Seed Oils Ltd is grown by small scale indigenous farmers in the semi-arid area of Ukambani in Southern Africa.

The edible seeds are used to produce an oil high in Omega 6 and 9 Essential Fatty Acids.
