PRODUCTION PROCESSES
All seed grown and purchased is cleaned to 99% pure and is only purchased from pre-approved producers and suppliers.
The seed storage facility includes an under floor, humidity controlled dry air fan system which keeps the pristine condition.

COLD PRESSING
We currently operate 20 'State of the Art' twin screw cold pressing expellers, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and pressing approximately 80 tons of seed per month.
Seed oils are extracted without the use of chemicals or solvents, at average temperatures of 37°C, in an oxygen free atmosphere.
The expelled oil is stored under nitrogen in stainless steel chilled containers and then passed through a low pressure plate filter which extracts all the sediments down to two microns, this also has the effect of polishing the oil to give it a crystal clear shiny appearance this oil is then taken to our purpose built oils store, ready for either refining, drumming or bottling.
Processing at low temperatures helps to produce low peroxide values (PV) and providing the oil is stored correctly will achieve an extremely good shelf life, ideally suited for the nutritional market.
REFINING
Refining is via three on-site innovative batch refiners that can bleach and deodorize, perfect for high quality food grade oils.
One refiner has a ½ ton capacity and the other has a 1 ton capacity. Between the two refiners 125kg - 2600kg of oil can be bleached and deodorized per day.
Statfold has developed the expertise and the processes for winterizing oils to meet specific customer requirements on request.
Certain oils with high saturated fat levels may require winterizing to maintain clarity at low temperatures and to ensure there is no separation of the oil when an extended shelf-life is required.
BOTTLING PLANT

In 1999, we began bottling self label nutritional food oils as a cottage industry.
Such was the success of this project that in October 2002 we took delivery of a fully automated bottling facility, then in 2005 we invested in a new state-of-the-art bottling plant, enabling us to fill, label (with batch & date stamp) and cap up to 3000 bottles per hour.
The bottling machine serves our growing customer base for organically certified nutritional oils, such as hemp and flax oil.
A variety of bottle size and types can be filled, including 100ml, 200ml, 250ml, 500ml and 1000ml in either glass or plastic.
The oil is spurged with nitrogen during production and UV protected.
All projects are developed in partnership with our customers, and we offer expert advise on choice of bottle, label design, quality issues and if necessary gaining soil association approval.
