Sweet Almond Oil - Prunus Dulcis

Sweet Almond oil is produced from the Asian Almond tree which was imported into France in the 16th century, but today is widely found in California and countries around the Mediterranean.

Sweet Almond OilThe oil is used in numerous recipes and delicacies, some of the best known being marzipan and Mediterranean sweetmeats such as halva and baklawa.

The oil, which is pressed from the sweet almond fruit, is one of the most generally used base oils, rich in beta-sitosterol, alpha-tocopherol, oleic acid, linolenic acid, palmitic acid and various other fatty acids essential for the skin and the proper functioning of the human body.

It is suitable for all skin types, especially dry, mature or sensitive skin, as it relieves from itchiness and soreness.

The oil contains protein, minerals, fatty acids and the vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E, which makes it a soothing, softening and revitalising base oil.
